American Water Chemicals, Inc. (AWC) was created in 1993 as a subsidiary of American Engineering Services (AES).  The main purpose was to manufacture and supply various water treatment chemicals required by AES for its reverse osmosis water treatment plants.  Since R.O. is often used as a pretreatment for industrial systems, it was a natural evolution for AWC to start manufacturing chemicals for boilers and cooling systems.  Eventually AWC had a product line that also included various CIP chemicals, bottle washing chemicals, lubricants, metal working fluids and various other aqueous industrial chemicals.
